parliament and other public buildings

This part of the city can not be visited completely, the part of the presidential palace it's banned to the visitors, but by the street you can see the parliament building.

This part of the city can not be visited completely, the part of the presidential palace it's banned to the visitors, but by the street you can see the parliament building.

It is worth visiting to get a feel of the colonial past of this country, so rocked by tragedy and wars.

Cidade Alta is where the presidential palace and offices as well as the accommodations and offices of other high-ranking officials. Do not walk around here as a tourist and no pictures. There are military personnel on every corner and they will be very suspicious of anyone looking like a tourist.

Recommended for those you appreciate old portuguese architecture. Its got a lovely church and you can visit the Fort museum. However, due to high security, it is almost impossible to take pictures of the buildings without getting into trouble.

There are some wonderfully beautiful beautiful buildings but when we were on a tour we were not allowed to take pictures. Luanda seems on one hand to encourage tourism,and then on the other hand not letting photo's is counterproductive. After seeing the 'poor' area which is being torn down slowly for high rises, this area is really nice, but very... More

if you only have few hours to go around, come here and enjoy, you may feel like in 19th century, charming architecture, great view of the city

Not much to see until the Fort Museum re-opens. Hard to get to due to military guards because President lives near by. Say you are going to the British Embassy---though they will check that your name is on a list..
