Amazing!!!

I loved every second of this. I did the shorter walk which was virtually just as long as the long walk but cost half the price. You get to see a video at the end that tells you... read more

I loved every second of this. I did the shorter walk which was virtually just as long as the long walk but cost half the price. You get to see a video at the end that tells you where all of the money is going which I found to be very helpful. The only reason I am hesitant to give... More

Never had a such amazing adventure. Probably the most stunning and impressive hour of my trip. The guides were very relaxed and made me feel comfortable in every moment. The lions were 2, a boy and a girl. They were comfortable with us but I know they were even looking forward their third stage, going back to freedom. The staff... More

I was initially sceptical about the ethics of walking with the lions, but I did considerable research before booking our Lion Encounter and am pleased that this is both an ethical and genuine lion conservation project. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our walk and the chance to learn about the conservation project. We also enjoyed chatting with one of the... More

We were hesitating to join this activity, thought it was a tourist trap. By participating, we contribute to stop the lion extinction. The staff is very nice and keep it simple, very humble and takes the time to answer all questions. We were 7 people and we all enjoyed walking with 2 lions which were 16 months old. At 18... More

Great activity to do when you are there. You will feel your heart beating very fast when you meet them for the first time, after a while you will forget that you are walking with lions. Very well organised and safely run. A point to take note if you are going with teenagers make sure that they are not under... More

Had the best time. Got so much time with the lions, pictures taken, and there was a video to purchase at the end if you decided. It actually ran longer than expected during the afternoon walk so if you had evening plans, something to keep in mind. It was a hot day during the walk so the lions were a... More

We loved our lion walk. Got plenty of time individually with the lions and the guide was great in taking plenty of photos with our camera so we could focus on the experience. The operation is part of the ALERT lion rehabilitation program which ultimately returns future generations of these lions to the wild. The walk with lions experience raises... More

This was very exciting! We went on a walking safari with two 18-month old lionesses leading the way. They spotted several prey animals and went into crouch and stalk mode while we watched. This was part of their training as they were still hand-fed but would eventually have to hunt when turned back into the wild. This attraction was not... More

We were collected from the hotel by Lion Encounters - the journey was rather a long one on a very full vehicle. We were an 'odd couple' amongst 2 large groups so felt a little left out. When we arrived everybody is seated for a quick background explanation and safety instructions. It was at this point that it 'kicked off'... More

My girlfriend and I were lucky to be the only people on the walk so we really got to spend a lot of time with the lion cubs Lala and Leila. We also had all of the guides to ourselves so we were able to ask a lot of questions. We were a little bummed that the weather wasn't a... More
