Had an afternoon to spare so went over. It was a great idea. The beach is very clean. Pretty quiet as is located 30 min away from Dar by boat and probably because we went on a Monday.

This is an excellent day outing from Dar es Salaam, particularly if you live in the Msasani Peninsula. Although I found the beach a little smaller than the nearby one at Mbudya Island.

Yes there is a Ferry to the Island and you just turn up about 20 minutes to half an hour before the time and get your ticket.
