If it's just a day lazing on the beach and going for a swim is what you want then this is a nice way Of spending it. You can catch a ferry from the pier at the end of The Slipway and in roughly 35 minutes you are on the island. Umbrellas are limited so at the weekend catch the... More

One of the best islands and close to get to,it's about 20mins from mainland. Clear waters and great for those who love collecting sea shells. Great meals are served too with lovely variety and great pricing.

I highly recommend visiting this beautiful little island after you've had a few days in the vibrant Dar es Salaam. The water is incredibly warm and clear, excellent for snorkelling. You can rent umbrellas and sun beds once you get there, but beware that if you go there on weekends, it'll be quite crowded and you might not find anymore... More

Loved Bongoyo Island, boat ride was great. On the island its a bit of a rip off having to buy an umbrella, chairs and the staff was not friendly at all.

The island can be reached via Slipway hotel - make sure you are at least 4 people in the boat otherwise you will have to pay for 4 people anyways even if you are only 2, which seems crazy but ok they need to make their money as too. Entrance fee will be charged to the island and a fee... More

Great place to relax during the day that gives even Zanzibar a run for its money. It's amazing to leave Dar es Salaam by boat and arrived in paradise only 30 minutes later. The food is excellent on the island, but make sure you order early. Also, when the boat arrives at the island you are transferred to a smaller... More

After an exhausting working week, this was a more than welcome Sunday escape to a paradise island. Wild, deserted, not at all touristy, crystal clear waters, white sand, beautiful coulours. The island has virtually no facilities, just a small very rustic restaurant that serves fish. Make sure you bring your own food if you wish to eat anything else. Also,... More
