We visited Rorke's Drift and stayed there 2 days. On arrival after a long drive we chilled out and enjoyed the scenery. Day 2 was a tour to the battlefields. I would recommend to have a guide as this makes the day so much more interesting. We were lucky as we stayed at Rorke's Drift Lodge and there guide Paul... More

Thoroughly enjoyed the trip with my partner. The guide we had was very informative and explained everything well. Although many people who are interested in military history visit here I still feel that other tourists interested in sightseeing would also benefit.

History buffs will find this area amazing. I'm not one, but could only imagine what this time period was like with it's hardships, temperatures and limitations. In some areas not much shows, but the tour will fill you in with what happened. The self-guided trail is easy to walk, wear comfortable shoes.

Touring the battlefields of Isadlwana and Rorkes Drift last weekend was awesome. A guide is a must, we stayed at the Rorkes Drift Hotel which is situated on the banks of the Buffalo River overlooking the actual drift, just beautiful. The hotel was excellent in all respects and provided a guide 'Paul' who was surperb, great knowledge and really pulled... More

You've seen Michael Caine, Stanley Baker etc in the movie and, now, you want to see where it all happened for yourself. Our group of 4 were certainly not disappointed even if the movie setting is nowhere near like the real thing. here, with your guide, you learn ALL the facts about this most famous of battles with odds so... Excellent informative battle site, the very low priced visitor guide walked you through the main actions on the site and explained in some detail the events of the zulu attach and british defence. Good parking and a very good, clean with good food cafe on site. well recomended

Been wanting to visit here fro years and years so was really pleased to manage it it. Took a guide from the hotel and he put all the meat on the bones so much better than the books can. The "museum" as such is well done with exhibits and models but perhaps not as much as I may have expected.... More

This was part of a 2 day private tour of the battlefields compete with a great guide with a passion and makes all the difference at Rorke's Drift. Although the buildings are not the original ones, they were destroyed in the fire, they are still old and are on the original foundations of the hospital etc. It had a great... More
