You really are immersed in traditional Moroccan culture here, there’s a host of sellers, cafes and sightseeing to do. Could not recommend it enough. Did see an ostrich which was a little odd!

We loved Medina very much. It's less chaotic and smaller than the medina of Fes. But it was so sad to see little monkeys chained and treated badly by Maroccan men in the main square. You have to be aware that people try to get...More

Came here for an hour and cruised this Medina. A lot more locals and local stuff then in Fes, interesting. You can get lost like any other Medina be aware of your surroundings and have fun! Had a great cappuccino in the square but the...More

Had a great time walking the streets of the old city of Meknès and appreciated the beautiful gates. Many traditional crafts can be seen in the small shops. Locals are very friendly.

It looked like a really nice place, but we went there on a Friday, Muslim's holy day. So at the afternoon it was all closed and we couls not see anything about the artisans, which is something really worth to see, as we have heard.

Being a small town, there is less of hustling and jostling in Meknese medina compared to larger cities. Not so enchanting as Fes, but has a charm of its own. Granary, stables, the lake, the prison, worth seeing.

For the end of 2018 we (Dutch family of 4, kids 14 and 18) chose to visit Morocco. Fly to Fez and hire a car to drive our way via Meknes and Ouzoud to Marrakech. The Meknes Medina is in our opinion less touristic as...More

If you travel to Volubilis, it is worth stopping at Meknes to see a more authentic Moroccan Medina that is busy but not overwhelmed with tourists. The city gates are beautiful.

Smaller and less crowded than Fes or Marrakech. A nice market with local and mass-produced items. Mostly locals with very few tourists.

Both the Museum Dar Jamai and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum are closed for renovation. There is little to see in the ciry beyond these sites. Although the medina's wall and doors are pretty, they are not worth the trip by themselves. Check to see if...More

Yes I only spent half a day there and then went to Volubilis which is also worth doing. If you have a car it only needs an hour or so to visit.
