Unlike other souks like Istanbul for instance, sadly this one hasn't much to offer nor have much charm. Mainly pointless souvenirs that no-one would use or wear once back home but a good experience to see in Marrakech at least once!

I guess there are better examples of this type of thing around the medina but this one was nothing special and not really for tourists.

More stuff than in your attic! 2,000 stalls selling and making everything under the stars. This souk is a week long project - trudging up alleyways, dodging donkey-carts, bicycles and scooters. Whatever you need or don't need is here. Bargaining is mandatory and start with...More

Well worth a visit. A great cultural experience, with potential bargains to be had. However: It is a maze, and very easy to get lost; be very clear (in your head) of how much you are prepared to pay before negotiating otherwise you will get...More

This is a very busy market. Very narrow isles, but very interesting place. When buying you need to barter with the sellers, you can get the prices down quite a bit.

Realy Big Market in the inner city of Marrakech. All products you can imagine are here to buy. Non-food and food. Always Bargain!!!! Also a lot of good places for coffee, softdrinks, breakfast, lunch and diner. Very safe, for male and for female.

With everything from dyes to sneakers and everything in between, Marrakech Souk is an experience. One can find everything at the souk and you must be prepared to bargain. But not too much - you do not want to insult the vendor. I left wanting...More

Smell all the spices and bring some home. You'll be tricked to buy a lot more than you need, but hey, how often do you have the opportunity to do this. Smell, taste and experience. Maybe you want to bring some leather products, a carpet...More

I wouldn't go out of my way to go visit the souks, if you have a disability, certainly be careful not the cleanest of places, difficult pathways to walk and scooters, cycles, taxis, carts and people everywhere!

Tangier was a nice contrast to the bigger cities we visited. Also, Chefchaouen, the blue city, was well worth the visit--beautiful. We were only there for a day, would have stayed overnight if I had to do it over again.

Don't forget to bargain. Don't be insulting, bargain with a sense of humour and remember this is how these folks make their living. You can find locally made belts, purses, wallets, hats at prices from $4.00 to $40.00... More
