If you don't want to be verbally abused or going into the risk of being attacked, you rather stick to Gueliz. It was one of the most frightening trip I have ever made. And, Marrakech is supposed to be the most liberal part of the...More

Unlike the Old Marrakech, this is similar to any other developed city. Lot of options to shop branded clothes.

This is the new and modern part in Marrakesh, typical European style area. There are many hotels, restaurants, cafes, famous brands shops and small malls in Gueliz.

Modern and a bit traffic heavy but it offers a nice selection of small shops, malls and plenty of resto's and cafes. Street life is interesting and it is safe. Hotels are everywhere but typically modern (not riad style).

If you are looking for a change from the chaos of the Medina than perhaps a lunch break in this modern and western type area will do the trick.

Very busy area with branded shops and little local shops side be side. Loads of places to eat. We loved to eat at central market where they served fresh seafood.

This is the Western part of the city - boutique stores, western franchises with street vendors to add a touch of Morocco. Lots of tour guides trying to sell you excursions, I would suggest booking in advance via TripAdvisor, as they will try and make...More

Reasons I can think of to go there: 1. You're so homesick for something that feels western, that a crappy little mall and western-looking apartment buildings seem appealing. (No joke, if you've spent too long in the medina, this might be a relief) 2. You...More

Hi, we went there via the Cyber Park, it was probably about 35/40min walk at a reasonably slow pace. Jan
