Best kept hidden secret. It was the first part of our tour of the medina, best place to start. Stunned by how large the medina was. Recommend being here at sunset and sunrise. Unfortunately it was NOT possible on our tour. The ruins are amazing and have stood the test of time. HInt: camera, good footwear, clothing , selfie stick,... More

If you want to have a panoramic view of the city just go there. There is no other place to go anyway. It's up the hill. The tomb has nothing special. It's all about the view. No wonder why even local go there.

Not the best to walk up to, but down is fine. The views from the top are very nice, but it is very hot. There were a lot of sheep grazing when we were there and we got followed by a boy back down to town. He didn't seem to want money though, just wanted to walk right in front... More

The best part of the town to enjoy the sunset. You can also observe all the parts of the medina from there. Lovely place!

The Merenidi tombe is located high on the hill above Fes el-Bali Medina. Easy taxi ride from the Medina takes just 5 minutes and costs around 6 Durham. Well worth the view as you can see the vastness of this very large Medina and the view over the mountains.

The tomb itself is not the best preserved and left to the elements. But the view from above down on Fes, especially at sunset - very beautiful. This tomb was visible from our riad terrace. The sheepskins that dot the hill change colour from red to brown and yellow as they dry during the day.
