Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We got to visit this Mosque on our last day in Morocco and it was definitely worthy of a visit. It’s one of the few mosques where non Muslims can go inside and see its splendor. We arrived for the 9 am tour and it was already very busy but we all got divided into smaller groups and were taken inside. There are tour guides at the Mosque that speak a multitude of languages that is included with your ticket. Definitely a must see.

Stunning, just stunning. Paid the 130 dhm tour fee, and with our English speaking guide Illam we were in awe of this enormous stadium sized place of worship. From the 39 Venetian glass chandeliers, to the 200 m minaret, to the sliding roof and titanium doors, this place is built to impress.

It’s an impressive structure. It’s also sad to think about the amount of money that was spent on a building that is empty most of the time. Visitors are not allowed into the main area during prayer services. Check the schedule before you go. Dress appropriately. You may not be permitted to enter if you are wearing shorts or a tank top.

The mosque is pretty, Not the surrounding beach sidewalks are nice. one of the few nice areas in Casa, frankly. For the tours, the only way to enter and view the mosque, tour-takers assemble in the museum area until the designated time at which all are herded over to the mosque. The tour is efficient, and kept thankfully brief.
They let you in a few at a time so shoes can be removed and carried in a bag. The interior is huge, and there isn't a structured approach to finding a guide. The guides start talking when they feel like it, as bunches form around them. No effort to organize people by preferred language, or wait until everyone is in. So, not everyone hears the beginning of the talk. They don't care; anyone who complains is given the option of waiting an hour until the next tour starts.
For that reason, my advice is to ask upon entry, or in advance, about which guide\group is the one you want based on language spoken. Then hustle on over so you hear the full talk.

Visit the outside and courtyard without a ticket. This was the best part. Inside was beautiful but modern and minimalistic. And you won't see the aspects that make this mosque special, the open ceiling, the glass floor over the sea - or even the terrace that looks out over the sea.
There are times when visitors are summarily escorted out of the courtyard. But wait a bit and the courtyard seems to open up again. The entire mosque experience felt like there was a rule book that we didn't have.
A few things we wish we'd known: Tickets are purchased in the museum but there is only a small unofficial sign. It opens roughly 8:30 for 9am tours. But the experience was chaotic. No line, just jump to the one or two ticket booths. Large tours push in first. There are no tour assembly signs until you get into the mosque. Don't worry about language. Join the first tour into the mosque. No one monitors the tours once inside the mosque. You can roam freely and jump into different tours. You only have to remove shoes. No head scarves required. No one monitors your exit either, stay until they clear the mosque for prayers.
You can't book tickets online unless you pay for a tour guide, too. It's unclear if there is a ticket limit for each tour so we arrived early to buy tickets. We've toured the major sites around the world including Aya Sofia, Taj Mahal, and Jama Mosque. This was by far the most disorganized experience.

The sheer size is breathtaking. We took an English language tour and it is very worth it to learn the story of this mosque and experience the amazing beauty of all of the craftwork. It is one of the very few mosques in Morocco that non-believers can visit. Understand that tour times are available only between the times of prayer.

The Mosque is beautiful from the outside and very special on the inside. Be sure to take the tour inside, which is excellent. Our English-speaking guide was terrific.
It’s a good idea to check the website to make sure you know the times of the tour on the day you’re planning to attend. Tours are more limited on Fridays.

Salut Mohammed,
