Don't expect to be wowed. It, of course, can't compete with the larger zoos. That being said, it's local (at least for us). For younger children, it's an enjoyable half-day activity, the there's a nice little park and playground nearby to round out the day.

Nice area to walk around with several animal exhibits. Only takes about 45 minutes to see the whole thing. There is a playground at Phillips Park that is nicely shaded for the kids as well as a beautiful flower garden area to explore and an indoor mammoth exhibit to view. Nice lake to walk around with exercise stations. All activities... More

So many surrounding city's do not have a park like this much less a zoo. I have enjoys this little Zoo for over 50 years, I wish the neighborhoods to the south of the park would improve,

Located on the East side of Aurora, this area showcases some of the beauty in the area. Kids love the animals in the mini-zoo.

I grew up 10 blocks from here, and so we frequented this free park. It's a good sized park. They have their own greenhouse that supplies the flowers that are in the courtyard. It's a great spot to take pictures, or relax. There's a train that takes you around the park in the warmer months. There's swing sets, bathrooms, water... More

This a free zoo in the city of Aurora. We went to the zoo while visiting my son at local university. While it certainly can't be confused for the Bronx Zoo. It was a great way to spend a couple hours. The zoo was very clean and organized. The animals seemed to be properly cared for. The zoo is located... More

We had heard about this zoo on the internet. It has animals, but is small for a zoo. But it is free. It also had a flower garden next to it that was nice.

For a hometown zoo, Phillips Park was very enjoyable. From the meticulously manicured and elegant sunken garden, and the educational Mastodon museum, to the owl, hawk variety, bobcat, otters playing, huge eagles, and the alligators in the reptile house, and more, my family, including my 6 year old grandson, enjoyed every minute of our visit. Maybe it was just luck,... More

It is a fun place to go with the kids on a nice day during the spring and summer. The kids really love it.
