This is the way to go when exploring the island. Very scenic. Plenty of stops on the way including towns, shops, beaches, and lookouts. Not a lot of traffic to make it difficult, but still has to be aware of the area. Plenty to see...More

We had to drive this road to get from Honolulu to our rental house up north in Hauula. The road is fine with scenic areas but there was some construction that slows you down a bit. I'm sure it will be better when that is...More

Nice drive along the shore, many places to stop and explore. Take your time, enjoy the drive. Then continue the drive through Central O'ahu back towards Honolulu.

The Kamehameha Highway takes you around the entire island of Oahu. Unfortunately, most of it is a single lane in each direction. If you get stuck behind some one going below the speed limit, then you're pretty much stuck behind them for a while. There...More

I love taking the Kam Highway around the island. Mostly the section from Kaneohe to the North Shore is amazing. You can also bike it or take the bus. There are all sorts of scenic beaches, good eats and little shops along the way.

It's a pretty nice ride. It's all out of the main city and you see a lot of the island. And it's really the only way to go so you may as well make the best of it.

As you drive out to the North Shore on Kamehameha Highway, you will see scenery that rivals that of the Pacific Coast Highway. There are plenty of pull-offs and beach areas and you'll get some great pictures. Especially some great pictures if there is a...More

This is real hawaii on the windward side. Beautiful drive with lots of pull offs and beach locations. We traveled this road daily and hiked a local trail that's not mapped. Excellent local eateries and places to get touristy.
