Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was a nice stop on our Reverse Road to Hana drive/tour. There are pretty views to look at. We were there on a rainy day so we just stopped for a short time.

This is a picturesque beach, but not ideal for swimming because it is quite rocky. We enjoyed the scenery, but continued south to Hamoa beach for a more tame beach experience.

Koki Beach is just down the road from Huli Huli Chicken and in my opinion a must stop on the Road to Hana. Our guide app suggested that we not swim here, but we couldn't resist. The beach has lots of larger rocks, but plenty of sandy area as well and lots of room for playing in the waves or just hanging out in the water. If you're up to a short scramble over some rocks to your left as you face the water, you might be able to claim a secluded spot all to yourself. This area is much rockier, so you won't be doing any wave riding, but there are lots of places to just sit and enjoy the water and the view.

Well worth the stop!

I've read it is not a great beach for swimming - that was NOT our experience. Great waves for playing, plenty of shallow area for younger folks, and beautiful beach.

This is a really neat beach to sit and have a picnic, either on the black rock beach or even from your car in the giant parking lot. There was a huli huli chicken place here but we decided to just eat our packed lunch. Homoa beach is just a skip away if you want to swim. This beach was good for people and wave watching unless you are into surfing, which we were not!

We headed to Koki Beach for Huli Huli Chicken. While we were waiting for it to open at 11:00 a.m., we explored the beach. One end of the beach is sandy while the other end of the beach is rocky; surf was fairly strong. We enjoyed the trees on the beach to keep out of the sun.

If your near Hana, definitely check this out of the way beach. It’s beautiful! Requires several steps down a well maintained step way. Easy to maneuver.

Pulling up to the beach, beach chairs in hand, picnic packed. We are all set to enjoy fabulous fresh fruit from fruit stands and surfing. The beauty of the beach was great too. Well worth the very short drive off the beaten path!

This is a nice red sand beach to stop at if the road to the more famous red beach is too wet. It is right off the road. Water can get a little rough but it was nice to walk to the cliff and back. Also make sure to stop at the huli huli chicken place just past this beach.
