Kaanapali Black Rock is located at The Sheraton hotel, in fact the hotel is built on it and into it. You don't have to be staying at the Hotel to enjoy Black rock, but you are welcome to enjoy drinks or food there. They have...More

The water here is very clear and there are so many different fish to see! This is the best beach-entry snorkeling we've ever done. You can see lots of unusual fish in just a couple of feet of water. If you venture out toward the...More

Beautiful clear blue waters. Windy in the afternoons. Perfect for snorkeling and swimming. Difficult to find parking.

This beach takes some real effort to get to if you're not staying in the hotels in the area. You can validate your parking at the mall by eating at the food court. Walked all the way north through several resorts to get near the...More

Black Rock is an excellent beach for snorkeling and hanging out. It is located right outside two resorts. The grounds are beautiful and there are (expensive) conveniences nearby. There is an okay outdoor restaurant and bar, restrooms available, and rental kiosks where you can get...More

We walked down from our resort to Kaanapali Beach mainly to snorkel by Black Rock. We found a shady spot under a tree and alternated between relaxing on the beach and snorkeling out by the rock. There were plenty of people cliff jumping and climbing...More

Snorkeling was great at Black Rock. Lots of turtles & fish and spaced out enough even with all the tourists. Parking was a bit more difficult. We found a spot, just further away then you want to walk in 90 degree weather. Worth it!

Really enjoyed the time at Black Rock. Sea Turtles swimming around without a care in the world. Convenient to the Sheraton. Really had a great time in the water

A huge beach surrounded by hotels, so you have food and drink if you'd like it. Caution, swimming out to the tip of black rock. There are many fish, even a turtle or 2, but the currents are often very strong. For pretty good swimmers...More

I wanted to go to Black Rock to check out the cliff jumping but I didn't bring any water shoes and it's very hard to get to the jumping spot without them so I had to settle on snorkelling instead and I sure was glad...More

Hi - I'm guessing the Snorkel Store has life vests, noodles, etc They'd probably throw those in free of charge with a snorkel gear rental. Worth asking

Generally speaking, a novice could snorkel here. The depth changes slowly and for the most part, there is no current due to its proximity to the rock ledge. HOWEVER, those adventurous types who head out past the end of the... More
