We traveled with a 5yr old and we’re visiting from Southern California. This was our favorite beach, we came back here a number of times! It’s protected from the open ocean, nice big areas where young children can play. Lots of shade. Picnic tables, showers...More

I would say this is an average beach. Great for kids as there are no waves. We visited this beach before but a little cloudy water compared to others. Nice place to relax!

At the north end of the island with a single road going to and from it from the Kuhio Highway, this peaceful beach with small waves is more suited towards wading and relaxing, with the Kilauea Lighthouse off in the distance.

Nice calm beach where you can walk out what feels like 100 yards and still be standing. Great for kids, but also for couples if you want a relaxing beach day with some nice views, and are just looking for a no drama ocean (very...More

Don't have to hike down a long path to get to this north shore beach....and it is protected by a very large offshore reef....so it is safe for all to swim and snorkel. Got to swim with the turtles here. Some shade if you want...More

Nice beach. Area roped/partitioned for snorkelers. Water clean. Nice. Not crowded. Not a wide beach. Lots of driftwood. No food trucks, concession stands. Restrooms off the beach. Minimal shells. Clean. Recommend a visit.

The beach might not look like much but the snorkelling is actually pretty good! And we saw turtles so it was just brilliant! Good parking, good food truck for lunch and good bathrooms/showers. Very pleased we went there!

We spent the morning at Anini Beach two days ago and enjoyed it. It was very calm and shallow so it was great for kids. There are lots of trees so it was nice and shady in spots, and a few of the trees are...More

Very cool beach for snorkeling and great for kids because you can go out a ways while standing up. Breakwater reef creates a calmness in the bay. Look for those huge turtles and you swim. Nice beach for relaxing.

We went early in the morning and parking wasn't an issue. It did fill up fast as the day went on. There was more parking than at some of the beaches in the area.

Poipou beach park and Anini were our favorites when we went a month ago. Many others were still closed, but may be open now.

I was just at Anini May6th/7th. It didn’t appear to have any damage at all. We camped about 15 feet from the ocean. The water was clear so it should be nice for your trip!
