Bridge for pedestrians and cars is being built, which will be nice once finished for those that don't want to wade thru the water to get to the beautiful trees. Worthy stop for colorful photography of the trees along the river. Not much to see but worth it! The water was too high for us to want to wade thru... More

It's a pretty drive through scenic countryside, but once there it's kind of vacant. You can walk through a forest of Rainbow Eucalyptus - which are spectacular, but there isn't much else to do. Locals come to swim in the nearby swimming hole and apparently there was a loop you could take by road but only with a 4 wheel... More

Use this address to find the Rainbow Trees: 7457–7485 Kuamoo Rd Kapaa HI 96746 Just keep driving Kuamo'o Road all the way to the end. Don't worry about notes of the creek blocking the road; if you have a low clearance car, just park and walk across. These trees are unlike anything anywhere.

This was a strange story. My wife and I are tree lovers and travel to arboretums around the world. We had planned to visit this one on our trip to Kauai, but scratched it early in our trip due to bad weather. However, a couple of days before we were to head home, we were road-tripping some scenic loops and... More

We made a quick stop here to see the rainbow eucalyptus trees. They are pretty cool. Not much else to see. We hiked the trail just before the arboretum. Very muddy but beautiful lush views. I didn't want to drive our rental car in the water so we parked and walked across the dam/water.

A nice quiet mountain park and picnic area. There are lots of trees, a small river and some great views. Be sure to look for the rainbow eucalyptus trees, they are cool. A nice change from being on beach.

We took a dog out on a "field trip" from the humane society, and this was a decent option. There's a lot of open space to run around, and there are some cool rainbow eucalyptus trees. Much farther drive to get there than expected. And the river seems like it could cause some problems getting across the bridge if there... More

If able to hike, there are spectacular sites hiking up the trail. It is uphill with a few flat places. At top a picnic area. There is a spectacular view of the mountains. A very peaceful place, many songbirds. Can be strenuous, depending on physical condition. Saw many families with children hiking.

Run by the University of Hawaii as an outdoor classroom. A nice park with lots of picnic tables and a few walking trails. Wear clothes you don't mind getting muddy!

At the end of the road you find the arboretum. Its not exactly a formal arboretum but its got the wonderful rainbow eucalyptus trees which are well worth the visit if you are interested in this type of thing. Its also a lovely spot for a picnic. Recommended for a short stop off.
