We walked the path mid-morning to escape heat, and its said you can see the markings best when there is some shadowing. Starting from the parking lot at Holoholokai Beach Road, the path fools you at first, looks paved, but quickly becomes natural, so natural...More

The hike was easy, though uneven. The petroglyphs were awesome to see. Nice free activity. The trees provide a nice shaded hike.

Interesting historical site right on the grounds next to the Fairmont Orchid. You can see a handful of petroglyphs a short walk up a paved path from the parking lot but you have to hike through there forest to get to the full field of...More

The majority of the petroglyphs are after a walk of a little less than a half a mile, which is mostly in the shade. However, about 500 feet into the walk are a few petroglyphs on loose rocks. If you want to see the majority...More

The path starts out deceptively easy-a paved trail leads to a collection of interesting petroglyphs and then there is a long winding trail through the kiawe forest. The trail is unmarked and we weren't sure if we were on the right trail until several people...More

Although the trail head for the petroglyphs is well marked, the trail winds through bushes and trees for about one mill until you come to the main viewing area. It is well worth it--- makes you wonder what all the signs meant. This walk is...More

The good news is that getting to these petroglyphs is super easy, and it's free. They are gathered together in one place a very short walk from the beach parking area. We walk by it often on our morning walks to the beach. Be prepared...More

The best time to go would be early morning. It's a hot walk on a sometimes difficult-to-see trail. Take water. You can walk around the petroglyphs for a pretty good view, and can get close enough for photographs, although it's sometimes hard to get a...More

From the parking lot walk about 30 minutes along the trail and wind through the undergrowth. While it seems like you walk endlessly, you will know it when you reach the end of the trail. There is a huge flat rock section that is fenced...More

It is walkable but a hot and not that scenic walk on the road. You can make a shorter and scenic 15 minute walk along the shoreline north and get to Holoholokai Beach Park. The petroglyph trail is off the parking lot on... More
