Beautiful wilderness park about 20 km outside of Tegucigalpa. The site has many kilometres of hiking trails and is terrific for bird enthusiasts, as it's an easily accessible place to see quetzals, trogons, toucans and more.

We left Tegucigalpa on a tour we purchased through VIATOR at about 9 AM and arrived at around 940. Once you arrive, if you didn't purchase a tour from a third party, you can pay a guide at the main park office (recommended). There are...More

This is well worth a visit, a cloud forest is not something most see everyday. There are also interesting birds and wildlife but go early on the weekends and expect to have others on the trails. A week day visit would be better for those...More

It´s such a nice place to enjoy nature at its best! relax and nurturing place for the soul. However, it can be improved by adding more paths or making it better for people with special needs

I think so, I'm an Australian tourist and I felt plenty safe. However, if you're doubting, I'd recommend you to hire a guide at the entrance (maybe call ahead out of season), the people working there were all very friendly.
