Overview
More
Thirteen Threads (Oxlajuj B'atz') is a non-profit organization that provides a market for local indigenous women to sell their handmade products for a fair wage at our Fair Trade Store. It is one of the only fair trade markets in Panajachel. All products are of top quality and unique designs, and provide a brief history of the producer's cooperative. Products include textiles, jewelry, coffee an chocolate. Our store hours are from 9am-6pm Monday-Sunday, and we are closed from 12-2pm daily. We also provide day tours to many nearby communities to meet with women's cooperatives, hear their stories, and explore their craft. Tours are available 7 days a week and require 24 hour notice to reserve. If you are in town, stop by for a visit!

Thirteen Threads sells goods made by local women. The prices are slightly higher because it's a fair trade store, but the quality of the handiwork is good. I can't vouch for the quality of the fabric. There is a wide variety of items for sale,...More

I loved the fact that this is a fair trade store. It has different things that what you find on the stores over Santander. More selected designs and color combinations. I'm not very knowledgeable but it looked like they use good materials.

Not your typical hassle, just a low key, helpful store and staff with locally made goods. Very refreshing after being hassled by every vendor along the street.

WAY overpriced. NOT 100% cotton woven fabrics either. Mostly China imported polyester threads. Really annoying to THIS discerning traveller. MANY many fabrics they hawk are not cotton at all.

Ordered coin purses for girl's birthday party. Paid via Paypal. Vendor contacted me, said she didn't have the purses. I asked for a refund, still waiting over a month later. Recommend you do not buy from this vendor.
