We had driven to the Hipodromo to look at the relief map and the kids where thrilled to see the Carrousel amusement park right across the street. We visited on a weekday morning and we where the only ones there, to the point that they had to turn the games on for us. There where l video games, simulator rides and fair type kiddie rides including bumper cars, a small carrousel, a tiny ferrys wheel for small children. The rides where not in the greatest of conditions and the whole place could use some upgrading, but for Guatemala standards it was a fun amusement park for small children. We spent about an hour there before moving on to Esquilandia which seems to be part of Carrousel but is actually a separate amusement park with 5-6 fair type rides. The price was affordable and there was a restaurant that offered pizza, hamburgers, snacks and drinks.
