No trip to Guatemala is complete without visiting Antigua, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed city widely considered Guatemala’s crown jewel. This half-day sightseeing tour from Guatemala City makes it possible to visit on even the shortest of time frames—squeeze it into a long layover or make the most of a quick trip without skimping on any of the sights.

Good to learn more about the money and coins of Guatemala, with some info about the history as well. Free to visit, nice exhibits and air-con, but no photos allowed inside.

Free entrance but unfortunately no photos allowed to be taken. We were fortunate that someone passionate about the history of Guatemala gave us a tour. He knew his stuff and it was educational to learn the evolution of Guatemala from the time the Mayan civilization to Colonial and Federation period.

Some great examples of coins and bills from the beginning of the Guatemala banking. Lots of the presses used to stamp coins with several dies. Very well done displays. But NO cameras or photos allowed. Brochure in english, but not the displays.

I came here at the recommendation of a friend and enjoyed a very nice walk through of this museum! It's free, which is always a plus! The museum is very well done! It houses a large collection of coins and bills spanning all of Guatemala's currency. It has many molds to look at as well which I thought was neat. Most of the displays are in both English and Spanish (so what I couldn't figure out in Spanish, I was able to read in English!) The workers there were incredibly friendly. Unfortunately, no pictures are allowed inside the building (that's why people have only shared pictures of the outside). If you have an extra hour in your day, this would be a great way to spend it!
