This relief map is truly an amazing visit. It was done before modern technology was available and took many years to complete. It is a scaled replica of the country of Guatemala. Visitors will understand the lay of the land of Guatemala after a visit to this site. I would recommend coming here first thing during a trip to Guatemala... More

It's a good way to learn a bit of the Geography of Guatemala. It's a huge map and you can check where you've been, it also has a little forest, so it's a nice place to visit

Our trip to Guatemala was mainly humanitarian dental service. Turns out that the Clinica de Tio Juan where were for a week is just across the street from the map and park. The park is a nice peaceful place to walk around - obviously has seen better days, but it also looks like they are working on getting it back... More

Got recommended to go here by a previous visitor and wasn´t let down. A great way to get to understand the two distinct parts of Guatemala and see in a different way how the country is set within multiple borders and how high the mountains are. In addition very good local guides (we had 2, one for Spanish and one... More

I have been travelling to Guate off and on for almost 20 years and never knew this existed until this trip. Quite interesting and put the terrain of the country into context for me.

This map is an outstanding achievement due to a great cientist and hardworker: Francisco Vela. This engineer, with a staff of helpers, designed this map of Guatemala, including every major feature in their detailed replica.

As long as you take into account the time in which this 3D map was built, this map is extraordinarily well made. The map was constructed under the directive of then progressive Guatemalan president Manuel Estrada Cabrera. (Thomas Woodrow Wilson was the sitting U.S. president at the time.) Built in an era where there were no satellites or sophisticated gadgets... More

Worth the trip if you are in the area, would probably not recommend travelers to make a trip solely to see the map, as it is just the map and a surrounding park, and not much else in terms of guiding, dining facilities etc. However, if you have traveled to other places in Guate during your stay, it is quite... I visited on my own while in Guatemala on a tour with Gate 1. I took a cab to this destination. Tourists pay a higher entry fee than locals. I don't remember the fee, but it was minimal. This is located within a park not too far from downtown. There was really no explanation of what I was seeing. I... More
