We tried to get in, twice, on the same weekday. Got there 20 minutes before each scheduled tour, as advertised in a stand-up sign near the entrance. The 10am tour was cancelled because of a "school group," and we were told to return at 2pm. Got there at 1:50. At 2pm, a guide told us the 2pm tour was delayed because a VIP was inside the Palace. At 2:05, he said, "Why should I lie, you're not going to stand a chance today, there won't be any more tours." So we cooled our heels for four hours, for nothing. A German tourist who had done as we did walked away fuming, too.

Entrance is for free so I went there with local person. I'm not sure if turists can enter there as we had to leave our ID at the entrance. There is many goverment officies inside. Place is really nice and worth of visit. Defienietly I will visit it when I'm again in Guatemala
