I usually go a little further out but had a larger group of some who couldn't do a longer boat ride so we choose Laughing Bird and I'm happy we did. A short 45 minute boat ride from Placencia, Laughing Bird Caye has a large...More

Crystal clear water is great for snorkeling. Beaches are soft white sand. It's a small island with a castaway kind of feel. Definitely recommend if you have the opportunity.

Scuba Diving was nice. It wasn't too deep but still have plenty to see. Rays, Turtles, lots of fish of course.

We stayed at the Turtle Inn and went to laughing bird caye through them, and they provided a dive master and a great lunch prepared in part on the Caye's grills. The snorkeling was beautiful. The caye is very small. Just like a few hundred...More

Make sure you snorkel at least twice while out here on the caye... once you get back to main land visit Brenda's for a local snack!

Our guides were fabulous! As I'm a "senior" and was a little apprehensive about the snorkeling excursion, Tulu was wonderfully patient with me, pointing out all the interesting coral and unusual fish.

We used GO SEA from Placencia for our tour to the island, snorkeling, and grilled lunch on the island. Nice little island, but we were there in off season, could get crowded in full season. Would definitely look into GO SEA for excursions.

The island is extremely beautiful with a TON of gorgeous coral formations. The water is crystal clear and an amazing turquoise blue. Great snorkel trip for the day

The Caye and the water are gorgeous. It's about a 40 minute boat ride from Placencia and it's definitely worth the trip. The weather at the Caye may be completely different than it is on the mainland so be mindful of that. We went to...More

Laughing Bird has the most amazing coral I have ever seen. I have snorkelled up and down the carribean coast. I snorkelled Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley the same week I did Laughing Bird. There were more fish up north but the... More
