If you need any fresh fruit or vegetables this is the place. All the produce is brought here from the local Cayo farmers and Mennonites. On the side of the market some locals were selling melons from the back of their vehicles. It is very...More

We stayed just outside San Ignacio for a couple of days so had occasion to visit this hustling, bustling market on a couple of occasions. It's a kaleidoscope of colours and a feast for the senses! Noisy and chaotic but it's a good way to...More

Good local produce, very reasonable prices. Bananas were a dime. People were friendly. Good assortment of fruits and veggies, some local crafts

We visited on Sunday, and it was very busy! it was like a festival of music, intoxicating smells, families, friends and laughter. There are quite a lot of merchants selling everything from vibrant, fresh fruits and vegetables as well as spices, clothing, souvenirs and so...More

Lots of fruit, fresh juices, wonderful local foods. Bring small notes, everything is inexpensive. There are also road side food stalls on the outside of the market itself. Very enjoyable couple of hours.

We went twice, both on Saturdays, the prime day for shopping. Can’t speak to the local prepared food because we didn’t try any, but there was indeed a wide selection of produce. We stocked up on apple bananas, which were something like 10 for $1....More

We visited here on a Friday so not one of the busiest days but we were still surprised at the size of it. It was really cool to wander around and see all there was on offer.

The farmer's market in San Ignacio was great. We had pupusas for breakfast and bought cheese, bread, and jam from the Mennonites working there. Everything was delicious and there was a lot to look at.

We went on a weekday, so there was less available than on the weekend. It was neat to see all the fruits and vegetables that were being sold. Souvenirs and other things were also available.

No, it is at least an hour away. And, frankly, it is not worth the hour drive. The San Ignacio market is really more of a shopping spot for locals, with lots of fresh produce. The clothing I saw was made in China and... More
We are on a cruise that will be stopping in Belize. Would this market be close enough to this port?

Not unless you're taking an excursion to the Cayo District. It's a 30 min flight or couple hour drive. Sorry. :(
