Located at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel, the Project is a continuous effort that aims to conserve and look after the endangered Green Iguana species in Belize. The hatchery uses interactive exhibits and programs to help educate and create awareness among international and local visitors. Visited here on our 'day off' in San Ignacio. They have tours on the hour during the day, we took the tour with another couple so it was only 4 people. It was great, very informative and took several good pics.

Fascinating up close look with these big reptiles. A visit to the iguana nursery was also very interesting. Might sound kitschy, but it wasn't at all. A highlight of our trip.

We were lucky to have the tour to ourselves. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and definitely cared about these amazing creatures. Very hands on, and enjoyable for all ages.

Interesting and fun to get close up with these fascinating reptiles. Staff was knowledgable. We enjoyed feeding them and seeing them at different stages of growth.

You get to go into a cool area with tons of iguanas and learn some more about their species. If you want you can also hold these iguanas on your shoulders!

Good afternoon, The Green Iguana Conservation Project is open daily from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Tours are done every hour and cost $9.00 US per person
