If you have the time to fit this in, I definitely recommend it. You learn a lot about the Iguanas in Belize and get to hold them if you want. We just showed up to the hotel after we went to Cahal Pech and bought our ticket. Had time for a drink before it started and got to view a... More

I would recommend this encounter especially for children… However be aware that the iguanas can scratch you. Make sure to wear long sleeve pants and shirt or be careful if this is a concern for you. They meticulously care for the iguanas daily and ensure they and the cage are clean. Soap and water is provided. This is a must... More

San Ignacio got hit by a heavy rainstorm the whole time we were there, so no caves or rivers for us sadly. But we got to meet and hold some adorable iguanas. You can hold a giant male, a female with a birth deformity and two adorable little babies. The guide gave us lots of information about the conservation project... More

The first must visit place in San Ignacio is Green Iguana Conservation Project, which is at San Ignacio Resort hotel. The entrance fee is 9 BZD and it includes an interesting excursion to iguanas. We were in San Ignacio in February and it was mating period for iguanas, so male creatures were attractively orange :) Sometimes male iguanas start to... More

Nice garden walk, followed by meeting healthy and happy iguanas. The resort it sits on is very pretty and has a great restaurant, so stop in for lunch.

The guide was very informative and it was great fun playing with the iguanas. I would highly recommend going in the afternoon when it is hot and they are active.

I brought my kids here and we really enjoyed learning about the iguana hatchery. We had the opportunity to feed them and hold them. Worth an hour stop.

I did the tour and it was totally worth it. Great guide with a lot of knowledge, he could answer all the questions and told so many interesting facts! You get to come extremely close to the animals, bht if you don't want one on you then you don't have to. This trip was golden
