My wife and I really enjoyed learning about iguanas and being able to hold babies. The facility is quite small, but serves a great purpose with a very knowledgeable staff.

We stopped by here on our last day in San Ignacio. We wanted to check out the iguanas up close and this is the place. My daughter was terrified at first but quickly warmed up to the iguanas and even held a baby one. The information and conservation that this project is promoting is great. This was a nice stop... We had an absolutely great time visiting the Green Iguana Project. I expected a tourist trap, but it is a quality run conservation project. The staff is obviously knowledgeable and passionate about saving this species in a responsible way.

My friend and I had such a great time petting iguanas and learning all about them. If you have some time and love animals, you should DEFINITELY check this place out.

Don't get me wrong, the place is good and doing good things for the animal. But I would not rate this as the #1 attraction in the area with several other things to do...

I was surprised at the location of this attraction as it is located on the grounds of a lovely hotel in San Ignacio. It was so much fun to watch our grandkids and other people in the group touch, hold and feed the iguanas. We all had an opportunity to interact with the green babies and the older members of... Who doesn't like playing with iguanas? It was educational and fun. You actually get to hold and pet iguanas. The guides were fun. The one thing that set this experience apart from others is that the staff at the San Ignacio Hotel were very polite to my family and I. The price was $9 US. If they raised the price... More

You access this through the San Ignacio Resort located on the highway in San Ignacio. Pay at the hotel reception. It's a guided tour in small groups. They take you down through a forested area. Nigel, our guide was really good. You can see some iguanas in the wild as well. The iguanas in the conservation project are housed in... More
