We had a great riding experience with mounts and selected trail appropriate for our skill levels. Be honest about your weight, your ability, your desires, and they will choose appropriate mounts and ride difficulty.

I highly recommend Banana Bank Lodge. My two daughters participated in the horse camp and they had a lots of fun and learning. Staff is very professional. Time for kids is very well organized and every single day differs. I really hope we will be able to participate in 2021 as well.

This was my first trip out of country, and I was very apprehensive even planning the stay. Through email, the planning coordinator answered all my questions and assured me everything would be taken care of as soon as I stepped off the plane. Our main guide, Carlos, greeted us with a sign clearly marked and drove us to all of our excursions (I had purchased the Mayan Adventurer package). From the very first night, we were in awe; words and pictures are a cheap copy of the experiences I had at Banana bank. Having horses myself, all of their horses and animals were extremely well trained and cared for. Staff went above and beyond; even including fixing us an after hours meal and taking us on an evening river boat ride. Our trail guide also taught us how to make a thatch roof. Caroline and John ate most meals with us and were extremely personable and accommodating. I was very impressed with lodging... we will be back next year and I recommend Banana Bank to anyone and everyone wholeheartedly.

We did not stay on the property but we did a night horseback ride through the jungle! It was such a unique experience unlike anything else I have ever seen or done. It is a bit off the beaten path to get there, but once you arrive they greet you with smiles and welcome! The horses are already saddled up and ready which is awesome because they let the horses free range their 4,000 acres of jungle and ranch when not being used so they have to round them all up. They help you hop on your stead and trek through sometimes complete darkness trusting your horse knows the way - and they do! Leisa and the guides are really friendly and will tell you all about the place, the jungle, the plants, and animals of the area. Also, they have a rescued Jaguar on premise and the famous spider monkey that slaps Chris Pontius from The Wild Boys show!
Tip:We did not stay here so I can't say.

First of all the staff was very nice. However, there were roaches in all the very dated bungalows. There was a monkey tied to a tree for which they had a story that he comes in at night and sleeps with them... and a jaguar that was supposedly "rescued". No Awful.

This was the experience of a lifetime- John Carr and his wife have this plantation adn he trains the horses by the horsewisperer method and let us gallop over the plain beside teak trees (but don't touch) There is a zoo, a musuem, can go on explorations of mayan ruins, I believe now a swimming pool.

We are horses lovers so we booked a week at Banana bank ranch for horse riding. It was fantastic with a lot of others activity included in our stay. You could ride all day to the capital of Belize or part of the day in the jungle or in the field. Do barrel race fun competition or even do a night ride. The owners are really good and friendly and helpful, nice to meet and there is a lot of animals on the site. The facility are not new but it is really beautiful and the pool was great too.
We enjoyed the food and the staff was really nice. A really good place to go for a night or a week. Thanks to everyone there.

Banana Bank Ranch was the experience of a lifetime! We stayed in a jungle cabana along the river. The grounds were immaculate! The air conditioning in the room kept us cool all night. We fell in love with Tika Too the jaguar on site. The monkey in the tree was fun to watch as were the birds. The horses were so well trained and gentle yet would give you a thrill ride if you so choose. The rain forest experience of riding horseback was wonderful. John Carr is an incredible horse whisperer and we were blessed to witness his skills with a young buckskin in the round pen. The art work of Carolyn Carr was amazing! Her gallery is well worth the visit to see her original works displayed. The food that was served was wonderful! I did not want to leave and will one day return with my grandchildren! Magical Place indeed!

We spent one night at Banana Bank Ranch. It makes you feel like you've stepped into the past. The beds were wonderful, A/C cold, the sheets were very soft and the rooms and bathrooms were adequate. Much of the outside of the buildings is in need of repair or paint. The animals seemed well taken care of. The art museum was wonderful. The meals were served family style, quite authentic, delicious and filling. We had yummy mushroom chicken, salad, rice, delicious sweet tea, dinner rolls and cake for dessert for dinner. For breakfast we were served scrambled eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, delicious refried black beans, and the best Fry Jacks I've ever had. The scenery is stunning. This is a place to relax. We did not take any of their excursions, but the other guests at dinner said they had a wonderful time on all their trips with Banana Bank. The owners are quite friendly and interesting to talk to. They shared lots of information and knowledge. It is a little overpriced and I would like to see them update or at least repair the buildings, but I definitely enjoyed myself, as did my husband and son. It was too cold to get in the pool, but we enjoyed wading in it and sitting around it.

The family that owns Banana Bank went above and beyond expectations to make our visit memorable. The staff was awesome, friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. Tours were informative and very easy to arraign. Our accommodations were clean and well maintained, loved our little cabana. Space does not allow for all the great things I have to share about our experience here. If you love outdoor adventure this is the place for you.
