Zip Lining & Cave Tubing From Placencia

We venture across the country to Jaguar Paw where upon arrival we gear up out for a total of 8 zip lines, soaring through jungle canopy and over rivers. After about 1.5 hours of thrilling zip lining we sit down enjoy a lunch before spending the afternoon in the cave for a tube ride that will awaken your sense of excitement. Float through mysterious limestone archways beckoning you into the mouths of centuries-old caves, holding untold stories of Maya rituals

We visited Herman's Cave with our guide, Pedro Garcia from Upside Down Tours. Pedro was extremely knowledgable about Mayan history and especially their perceptions of and usage of caves... He told us about how the ancient Maya used the cave as their desperation increased along with the drought, how they believed the cave was part of the underworld, and further along on our trip, he pointed out a room above where human remains have been found and thus sacrifices were likely performed there. He also knew a lot about the geological parts of the tour- explaining how stalagmites & stalactites form, how long they take to form, why some look different than others, etc. I didn't think I would be terribly interested in that part of the tour but he made it interesting! He was very friendly and had a good sense of humor as we tubed in the cave- sometimes in the total darkness, which was a bit eerie in the best way! I really recommend this tour, it was definitely a highlight of our trip!

Our family is what I’d call cave connoisseurs! We have visited many caves across the US so this was a treat to see a cave outside the US. It was nice and we were glad to make the stop. We just did the self guided tour because of time constraints. It was good for 18-66 years old. The price includes a trip to the blue hole. $4 US. Go ahead and get the head lamps for a few extra bucks that will go toward the national park funds.

Had a great time visiting Herman's Cave and doing some cave tubing. Able at Upside Down Tours was great to reply to my emails and met us at the park just like he said he would. Our tour guides were great young ladies who were very knowledgeable about the cave and the history of the Mayans. Will certainly use them again in the future.

My first experience cave tubing was so much fun. Our guide was great and very informative about everything...the cave, the country, the wildlife. Even when one of us had a "flat tire" (tube hit a sharp spot on the cave wall) it made the tour even funnier and more memorable. Billie showed us a really good time and I would do it again for sure. Pretty cave, cool water, fun day!

What fun!! This was one of several amazing experiences during our time in Belize. We had a wonderful tour guide, Pedro with Upside Down Tours. He was a great guide and a lot of fun too. There is a very short and very easy "hike" (walk) to the cave and then a short walk in the cave to the spot where you get in the river with the tubes. The tubing is basically a lazy river tube down the river inside the cave. It is fun and absolutely beautiful. I loved it when our small group all turned off our headlamps and enjoyed some time riding in the dark! I highly recommend the cave tubing. To tube you must be with a guide, or at least that is my understanding.
