My wife and i spent 3 days at Rio Bravo's Hill Bank (by the river/lagoon with crocs and great water birds) and 3 days at La Milpa (which also has a Mayan ruin). It is run by a private conservation group Programme for Belize whose efforts deserve support. Lots of mosquitos and chiggers and somewhat uncomfortable in January 2014 but... More

Just spent 3 days touring the Rio Bravo Conservation Management Area. Awesome experience - one night at each field station - great food and comfy cabins. And, wonderful naturalists for the premier bird watching experience ever - toucans, parrots, the red capped manakin and many more. Swimming at Hill Bank and touring the un-excavated Mayan ruins at La Milpa created... More
