This excursion starts with a bus tour through Belize. Yvette, our tour guide, provided information and humor in just the right amounts. Then we arrived at the airboat station and were given some brief safety instructions. It was not raining but was overcast so I wished I had put on a jacket for the airboat ride. Our guide on the... The history in Belize is fascinating, and the Mayans ruins are amazing. You definitely want to book through Carnival. The bus ride is long, but it is worth the trip.

Long drive, but worth the trip. The view is amazing. Make sure to take panorama picture. The climb to the top was easier that coming down. These are authentic ancient structures and hand rails not provided. Stones can be slippery and unstable. Make sure to stand at the "point zero", the sacred spot.

We have been to Belize numerous times and have always booked our tours through Carnival until the last time we went to shore, stupid mistake!! First off the dock where the tender takes you is the typical tourist shopping area, it's clean and new right where the tender dicks, but as soon as you get out of the gated area,... More

Our bus tour guides were great and very friendly. But, I could have done without the Belize City tour. It takes an hour and a half to get to Altun Ha one way. The time wasted looking at the rusty and rotting buildings, we could have climbed a good portion of the Mayan ruins. Altun Ha is very large with... More

We started with the ruins and then did the river, some groups do river then ruins. At any rate we liked it because there were no long bus rides, just about an hour each, and very interesting. We definitely could have used more time at the ruins for looking around and shopping, but it was fun and you actually get... More

Belize is the only port that we stopped at on our cruise that required anchoring offshore and using small boats (tenders) to shuttle guests to the mainland. Venture out of the fenced area to where the locals operate--this is where we hooked up with the horse wagon tour, The young girl driving the wagon was very briefed with Belize culture... More

Belize Port is to shallow for cruise ship docking. Our ship, the Valor, docked off shore and we used a tender (a small shuttle boat) to the port. Many shops lining the port but the Trolly Tour was outstanding. We were taken to many parts of this small city with a guide that pointed historical sites and explaining the culture... More

I awoke and peered out my window to see Belize. I saw lots of cruise ships miles off the coast. We took tenders to the shore. Wow, plenty like Cozumel. Chains mixed with local and pretend locals. I bought a ironwood cane and knife from a guy who was not on the carnival approved list. Nice guy, but then, he... More
