The site is not very big but it is tidy and interesting. worth a walk around. Nearby there is also the "Crocodile lagoon", a small lagoon, although the crocodiles are not easy to spot. There is a small area with tables and benches where you...More

I was in awe to learn about the ruins in Belize. How they were created; each priest building on top and around the building of the previous priest. It made me think of the nesting boxes one inside another inside another and so on. I...More

Loved this tour, so interesting to hear about the old civilization and ruins that were left. It is relatively new (i.e. discovered recently). Drink a lot of water, some walking but not bad at all. The views were great. Just loved it

I took a cruise and Belize was a port we stopped at. The tour of the ruins was reasonably priced with a private tour company (not the cruise ship's excursion). This place is not good for those who cannot handle walking and climbing. The temples...More

My wife & I wished to learn more about the Mayan civilization. We were fortunate to get a knowledgeable guide who spoke fluent English. At this site there have been attempts at restoration but things are at a standstill awaiting funding. Tourist dollars contribute to...More

We went to Lamanai and it was beautiful. Glad we made the decision to go here as the crowds were smaller and we were able to climb on of the main temples. Great views. Plus the tour to get their is by boat and the ride up... More

It's very safe. Tour companies are best. There really are no crowds since the area is so large.

I would say they aren't that winding. At least not the route that we took. I don't recall any mountainous roads. I think your kid will be fine.
