With over 700 acres of pristine, conservation land and a wild animal park dedicated to education, Chehaw is a unique attraction for South Georgia. Being one of the only two accredited zoos in Georgia, aside from Zoo Atlanta, Chehaw continues to be devoted to the three areas it was founded on: conservation, preservation and education.

From the Wild Animal Park to the endless recreational opportunities, Chehaw has an activity for every visitor. We offer Mountain Bike Trails, an 18 hole disc golf course, a BMX track, a large Play Park, campgrounds, rental facilities, nature trails, a fully stocked catfish pond, summer camps, and MORE! Come see what nature's playground has to offer you.

Went here to explore the mountain bike trails. They were fairly extensive but no real elevation and could use a few more features. Fun though. Surprisingly they had a BMX track that you could use and I radio controlled race car track made of dirt. Lots of places to picnic some water a small Zoo and camping I believe

We were HOPING for a nice place but in traveling from site to site you never really know what you're going to get. This little gem of a place was so clean. Jimmy was a great little hostess checking on us. It was the perfect place to relax with a fire and reflect in our great vacation. We plan to... More

Very large park with plenty of places to walk and have a picnic. There is also a zoo and it is nice. The animal enclosures are large and a good variety of animals. There are also camping areas and other activity areas in the park.

Chehaw is beautiful! There are places to eat, fish, go on bike trails, and a zoo! I love the zoo, but as a runner, I was a little disappointed in the lack of running trails, or maybe I was looking in the wrong part? Note sure, but you should go to the zoo!

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review! If you're looking for trails to run, we have about 12+ miles of single track bike trail that make for great running trails! You can start anywhere, but the trailhead is right behind the BMX track! Be sure to check it out during your next visit to see if they'll work... More

Our visit to Chehaw was to take our 2 year old to the zoo. We were very impressed with the park as we were driving in. There are lots of activities including horse back riding and disc golf. The zoo is not very big and they don't have a lot of the animals one would expect at a zoo but... More

Chehaw Park is a very family friendly environment. The property is large its very spacous. We have had birthday partys, family gatherings, and picnics at this park. The staff is friendly and very helpful, most of them have worked there for years. Chehaw offers education, games, and family fun

Good for nature walks, to see the animals, picnics, and a train ride. You can relax and read a book or talk a long walk or even ride around a good portion in your car. They have a nice playground so the kiddos can burn off some energy. A lot of people have birthday parties, weddings and family reunions at... More
