This place is a gem. If you are the type of person who wants a Disney experience with animals in pens as you tour then skip the island and drive to Orlando. If you really love being out in nature, shelling a deserted beach, watching...More

This is a secluded island off of Indian Pass 15 miles west of Apalachicola. Perfect for birding, shelling and looking for ancient Indian chards. Joey Romanelli runs a shuttle off the pass.

There was no one on the beaches and I had a great walk. I recommend a visit, just a few minutes from Apalachicola.

So we take 2 teenage girls to this island. There is minimum cell phone coverage, no wifi, no nothing and they loved it. The shuttle is a quick trip across the pass. Once you land it takes about 15-20 minutes to hike through the sand...More

If you love solitude and nature this is the place. Peaceful beauty, only accessible by boat. We were lucky enough to attend a tour put on by the friends of Saint Vincent Island. They offer the tours occasionally in the winter by advertising on their...More

On a recent visit to the barrier islands near Apalachicola, experienced a rural beach trip, with more bait shops than boutiques. From the east end of St. George Island State Park to Indian Pass on the west end of SVNWR, recreation opportunities are endless. Weekend...More

Very rustic tour - informative - old history of the area - bring bug spray and cool water - very reasonable cost for boat transportation to the island - wagon ride is the preferred means of travel - teens could handle the self guided walking...More

No words can describe God's natural beauty! Must visit! Pristine sand, water, and wildlife. Florida as it was intended to be enjoyed.

It takes a bit of extra effort to visit St. Vincent's refuge; one just cannot drive up to it. Some kayak, and the distance between the tip of Indian Pass and the island is short, but the crossing has a strong or stronger current (depending...More

Hi, thanks for your help. We will be there in Mid March. The web site for the wildlife refuge doesn't seem to offer much info about touring, etc. Could you point me to other online resources?
