This was a fun family hike. We went with our 2 year old, and she had no trouble with it. It offers some nice variety away from the beach / pool. It was hot when we went, but we went first thing in the morning,...More

When you need to get out of the sun on Coquina beach cross the street to the baywalk and enjoy the birds and the shade. Raised walkways take you above the tidal flats and closer to the seabirds. No need to give up your beach...More

We did this walk one evening after dinner and after a rain storm. It was nice. Easy walk. A few mangroves to look at but nothing completely spectacular. If you're looking for an easy, after-dinner activity to do with small children or any children, it...More

We've been coming to the island for years but had never stopped here before. It's a very pretty and interesting walk through the mangroves. The walk is mostly on boardwalks with several extending out over the water. We enjoyed the views, the crabs, and 1...More

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the beach or the shops, then this is perfect diversion: a beautiful boardwalk through a Nature Reserve where we saw heron, ibis, pelicans, woodpeckers, two different types of crab, and loads of different types of...More

We attempted this walk with our two young children but after only walking about 100 feet we turned around and left. Mosquitoes were everywhere even though we had bug spray on and there were lots of bees. Maybe it's just the time of year but...More

This is called Leffis Key and it is on the bay side [LH side] as you drive south towards Longboat Key. Generally this is quiet and you can walk though the mangrove boardwalks and emerge on to viewing platforms over looking the bay and inter...More

This walk is great for all levels of physical fitness (but probably not very accessible for wheelchairs/walkers/etc.). You can see a lot of different birds around the area and will definitely see about a million tiny crabs. It's a bit more fun in the cooler...More

Yes, I am aware it is Florida and I'm sure it would have been much more enjoyable on a cooler, less humid day. I have experienced those type of days in Florida in the fall or winter. Thanks for keeping me on my toes.

I am not sure, we didn't have a dog with us so I didn't notice the signs. That being said I didn't see any dogs there either.
