When traveling down Independence pass, this is a must stop. The caves are interesting and worth going down into, but the real gem are the cascades. Very short hike with almost no ascension. Excellent place to take a picnic lunch and enjoy the view.

The Grottoes trail is not connected to a campsite. There is a campsite not far from there called "Difficult Campground ". Call the U S Forest Service for information.
