This is the most beautiful hike I have taken! The scenery is magnificent. We hiked from Crested Butte to aspen and back the next day. Our group spotted a bear in the distance and watched him traverse the mountain with ease. The climb to the...More

Todays hike to the Maroon West Pass, a 17 mile hike including a 1000m increase was just fantastic. All though there were strong winds at the top of the pass, the sun was out all day, and we accomplished the challenge in 7.5h. The landscapes...More

The sheer beauty of this place would be enough if you had to work to get there. However, very little walking is required to enjoy it (after a short bus ride from Aspen). For more layers of beauty, hike the trails - we did Crater...More

Magnificent place to visit while in Aspen. Easy to get to via public transit. Scenery was spectacular with the Aspen trees starting to turn color.

I had been looking forward to seeing the Maroon Bells for many years, having seen pictures in my travel guide book. I have to say I was a little bit disappointed. Yes, they are nice mountains, but having just come from Grand Teton and Glacier...More

You have to be there before 8am, parking is very limited. If you come after 8am you have to sue the RFTA shuttle which is $8 per person (roundtrip)

The bus ride from Aspen Highlands is only 20 minutes. The bus has no onboard restroom facilities. They are available near where the bus stops at the top of the hill.
