I found myself finally walking out at about 8PM one evening recently. I'm glad we had a headlamp! Anyway, this is a very beautiful hike. And for those who don't want to have a strenuous hike, just do 3/4's. When you arrive at the switchbacks, turn around unless you are a very good hiker. Take poles for balance as there... More

You will need Lockers or Winch to get up tot he trail head across the river, but all the work is worth it if you can reach the top. Only way in is 4wheel or hiking. Beautify trail with amazing views and the lake is prime for fishing.

You will start at about 10000' with a steep trail through piney woods that open into the flat valley trail. The trail winds through different terrain and fauna until you... More

It's a nice gradual climb up the valley, following Grizzly Creek. The last part, up to the lake gets steep, but nothing that a healthy person can't handle. So, pack... More

A perfect hike, in and out of spruce and aspen groves, lovely views, wonderful creek the whole way. The storms really hit this spot, so be prepared for thunderstorms and start early.

We hiked there a few weeks ago - early July 2007. Group of 6 ranging from 18 to 55 yrs. 6.5 mile rough rock road to get to the trailhead. You could probably get there in almost any vehicle, but you want a high profile vehicle to get over the rocks. Very beautiful, somewhat strenuous hike for a city dweller.... More
