What a lovely area to walk, enjoy the beautiful scenery and flowers, and get some exercise. The river was rushing from the still-melting snow and the roaring sound was so relaxing. The area was a nice tribute to the man who lived in and loved...More

Didn't go here on purpose. Went on a hike along the river and happened upon it. Can't say that I was ever a John Denver fan, but it's a cool tribute.

A must for John Denver fans visiting Aspen. It's quite peaceful to walk through the sanctuary with the river as background music, reading various inspiring John Denver lyrics cast in stone. You'll leave feeling uplifted.

John Denver Sanctuary is a beautiful, quiet and contemplative space right in Aspen. The sanctuary is a wonderful place to bring a picnic lunch, watch the river, do yoga, or just contemplate the beauty of Aspen.

Beautiful area!! This is a good little stroll to do on your first day in the area. Bring a little picnic. Maybe a small cooler with waters and sandwiches. Very pretty. A must see for John Denver fans.

We loved walking through this calming and serene park, while reading the words to the songs of legend John Denver. What a great idea, so that the younger generation can get a sense of what this singer/song-writer was about. Would go back every time we...More

We were in Aspen to visit Silver Queen Gondola. But it was closed on weekdays. So we hang out in this place. It's very beautiful. You can spend time in the heart of nature with family and friends.

I've been a fan for my entire life. This sanctuary is amazing. There are many quiet places to sit and reflect, and the flowers are beautiful. Do. Not. Miss. This.

Hi I would like to know if it is possible to have a bench placed in memory of John Denver in the sanctuary for the 20th anniversary in October of John's death? Who would be in charge of this and what would the cost be? Fans of John Denver would like to have this done. Thank you for your time.

I would suggest contacting Willie Hoevers, who is also making plans for the 20th anniversary of John Denver's death. Willie is also on Facebook. My wife Diane tells me she knows you from Facebook. We live up in Wisconsin.
