John Dever Sanctuary is the perfect place to walk, reflect and have a beautiful picnic by the river. It has engraved boulders with his song lyrics written on them, flowers galore and is a romantic place to hang out. You must see John Denver Sanctuary.

I was so looking forward to visiting the John Denver Sanctuary- I have lived his music and lyrics for ever........... The Sanctuary has no relevance to John Denver 😔. So sad really, no music, no memory joggers with excerpts from any songs, no pictures or...More

This is a lovely place to visit and spend some time. The garden areas are full of flowers and there are water features in harmony with the flowers. Many of the rocks have John Denver's songs etched into them.

Very pretty spot at the beginning of the Rio Grande Trail with ponds, streams, and large boulders engraved with poetry and some of John Denver's lyrics. My friend suggested I play his music while I walked through but I'm not in the 3rd grade any...More

We enjoyed a lovely stroll through this park in Aspen. Even though it was between seasons, it was beautifully landscaped and well kept. Wonderful tribute to John Denver.

Walked around the sanctuary. Nice area to visit for a picnic lunch or to read a book. If you have the time, there are a few trails you could venture on (from 2-8 miles).

I had been wanting to see this for several years and we were glad to finally be there on a beautiful sunny October day. Be sure to slowly wander through the garden with the smaller stones, otherwise you might miss some memorable quotes. Then head...More

Quiet, peaceful, very nice walk through the memorial park. Coincidentally, this was the 20th anniversary of his death. people had left flowers and notes by the stones. Very cool.

This is a must visit if you are in Aspen. Quiet and serene just how you would image John Denver would want. Very emotional walking the paths and reading his song lyrics that are etched in stone. Lovely place.

I would suggest contacting Willie Hoevers, who is also making plans for the 20th anniversary of John Denver's death. Willie is also on Facebook. My wife Diane tells me she knows you from Facebook. We live up in Wisconsin.
