Quit small beach in a state park.

Great for bikers, hikers, walkers, joggers. Nice, quiet, peaceful beach. Plenty of picnic areas as well.

Crown Memorial State Beach is nice for a picnic or bar-b-q. Bar-b-q pits and tables are located on the north shore near the USS Hornet. The beach looks out onto SF Bay between Alameda island and San Francisco. The water is not good for swimming, but one can stick their toes in it if they choose. There are very small... More

Seemed ok. But I'm from Florida so this was not my thing. Dead fish. Cold water. Lots of seaweed. I stuck a toe in and moved on.

We started at the Crab Cove Visitor Center parking lot. Unfortunately the visitor center was closed the day we were there. However, there is a nice little walking trail in the tidepools, depending on the tides may be under water. The whole area is protected so it's a great place to let the kids look and learn about animals. We... More

I lived on the the Beach for 7 years. I saw it in all weather and I walked it almost daily. It is a wonderful walk. To hear the waves crash and see the birds playing on the shore and water. It is a delight. On warm summer days it is packed. The parking can be sparse but having the... More

Not being from the area myself, I didn't realize how windy it would be here! It was a lovely view though!

This is a surprisingly nice place. It has a very relaxed small beach town feel. The beach is very long, plenty of parking (free on the street and paid in the park), it has lanes for bicycles, roller blades and, of course, pedestrians to have have a walk. There is also a nice little park and a kite/windsurfing school. Plenty... More

This is a beach in alameda that has amazing views of the bay and SF. Great for families, bike riding, or just playing in the sand.

The Crown Memorial State Beach runs much of the length of the Alameda San Francisco Bay Shoreline. The beach is not really for swimming, although some people do. It's more of a come out and lay on the beach sort of Beach, and it's great for a sunset walk. The view across the bay of the sun setting over the... More

Crown Beach is beautiful with soft white sand and pretty dunes. The beach is on San Francisco Bay. The water is often shallow, but it can be deceptively dangerous as there is a tide, which can unexpectedly grab you (but especially young children). People drown here so be careful. The only down side is that it can be quite windy.... More
