We went to this Museum because we were in the area and wanted to pass the time. What a wonderful surprise. The size of the place is very misleading. I would have never thought it was as large as it was. It started out with lots of rocks and minerals and I thought kids would get bored. But then we... More

The plain exterior of the museum does not reveal the riches inside. The museum's displays are meticulous, well-done, and very interesting. And if a museum can be spotless, this one is. The African animals are magnificent and compelling and the overall learning opportunities are many. Great place for kids and adults alike. Plan on 1.5-2.0 hours. We'll be back!

Perfect escape from being trapped in hotel with small children, the Anniston Museum of Natural history was a pleasant surprise. From one of the largest bird collections, to an amazing African display, to a replica of a cavern complete with a little side tunnel and "creepy" animals (daughter in law's description) in little alcoves. Kid area has an earthquake simulator.... More

Going to Anniston, Alabama with the intent of the museum, I was quite surprised as to how really interesting and awesome this trip turned out to be. I was not looking for anything really good, as this is a small town compared to Birmingham or Atlanta, but what a jewel. The kids I took with me were thrilled and stayed... More

There are a few items I really enjoyed ( the orchids) are beautiful. My nieces were really intertwined but I lost interest.
