One of the most incredible buildings in Washington. Magnificent is the only word. I don't know if you can go inside on a tour, but if you can by the looks of it it would take days. I really admire the courage and vision of the designers and builders. When I think of how often I've seen the whitehouse in... More

Something different in the typical Federal Government Architecture - a little Gothic, but something different compared to the typical Greco-Roman architecture in DC. Have not been inside the building but always fascinated by this building when seeing the White House and surrounding areas.

The real home of the senior White House and NSC staff, the building is a beautiful 19th century rabbit warren of a building. Walking around it where you can gives you an interesting view into 19th century architecture. Was the War Department and the State Department at one time. I've been in meetings there many times and the inside is... More

We did not go inside, but stood in awe and absorbed the architectual beauty from the outside. There were SS guards posted every few feet and were quite helpful in answering what questions that they could. Great for a walking tour!! Little kids would pribably not enjoy to hear about the history of the building, but teenagers and adults sure... More

Often, many tourists visited Penn Ave overlooked this beautiful iconic landmark building because the focus is so much on the White House. The Eisenhower Executive Office Building is right next to the White House and is housed the majority of White House workers. According to the historical information on site, it was built as State, War and Navy Departments. On... More

The Eisenhower Executive Office building is one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever visited from the foundation down to the door handles. For the most part, the building holds true to its original structure and fixtures but blends it with minimal mixture of the new age. Awesome!

This is one of those historic buildings that you won't want to miss - or frankly be able to miss if you're in downtown DC. It's spectacular - especially at night when it's lit on the outside.

This building is amazing looking from all directions. No other building in DC is like this. Who cares what goes on inside, just take a bunch of pictures.

I go there occasionally, including just a few days ago, for meetings. That meeting was in the former office of the Secretary of War. Magnificent. I honestly don't know how someone from the public can visit, but I am confident that if you are American, you can make arrangements through your congressperson. As I was entering the building, there was... More

The Eisenhower Executive Office Building is located on W. Executive Avenue located near to the White House. Built in the 1870-80s in French Second Empire style, it is an architectural masterpiece and registered national Historic Landmark. It is a large complex to view from the outside while sightseeing in the area. Today, the majority of the offices for White House... More
