What a treat to discover the hidden treasures sequestered away on the top level of the State Department! Beautifully decorated rooms with some of the oldest furniture and artwork of America. Fascinating for history or art buffs. The guide was extremely knowledgeable.

Yes, it will be checked and X-rayed, but you can have it with you. You will be accompanied at all times by the docent and guards.
