My husband and I signed up for the Spirit of Washington lunch cruise as a planned activity during a navy reunion. Based on the brochure (photo at the top, inside the brochure), I expected to see highlights of Washington DC, including the monuments, while cruising...More

The coordinators of our reunion arranged for this cruise on the Potomac as a fun group activity. While the cruise was fun, it's not entirely one thing or the other. It's not great for seeing the major sights, and it's not great for entertainment --...More

The Spirit of Washington is a dated vessel with mediocre buffet food cruising the Potomac. The Spirit is not high end although the tickets can be $100+/person. The 2 hour lunch cruise is too short and the dinner cruise is pricey. If you want time...More

My wife and I took two of our grandkids, ages 11 & 9, to Mt. Vernon aboard The Spirit of Mt. Vernon. A great, stress free way to do it. 1 1/2 hours on the boat each way. 3+ hours on the grounds. We couldn't...More

We took the July 4th Fireworks Dinner cruise and could not be happier. Great views, delicious food and friendly staff. And no DC traffic after docking.

Beautiful boat with great views, from top or inside decks. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable; boat left on time each way; convenient waiting area departing Mt. Vernon. A wonderful way to visit historic Mt. Vernon.

Sorry, it was a part of our pkg (one drink included with a souvenir glass). I can't really help with your situation since I don't know how much the upgrade is, length of cruise, etc.

I went on the Thanksgiving Lunch Cruise and that was $44.95 per child, ages 3-12. Adults were more.
