European Cathedrals are beautiful, but the National Cathedral is a must-see when in DC. The entrance ticket included a tour of the cathedral and is highly recommended if you have time. Went downstairs and checked out several chapels and the crypt. The stained glass in...More

Don't go there if you've been to cathedrals in Europe. Only true DC / religious historians can appreciate it

This was an amazing place to visit and walk around. The cathedral is most impressive, the stained glass just beautiful. We happened to be there during a church service, so I heard the organ and it was powerful and inspiring. One thing that was surprising...More

A little off the beaten path, must a must see on your DC trip! The views from the top are stunning. Woodrow Wilson is the only president buried here. Stunning architecture.

As a DC resident, I rarely stop and take in the sites. That is not true, however, for the National Cathedral that makes me smile when I walk into the nave. I stop by every time I can and take others. It is such a...More

We visited the cathedral in December and fell in love immediately. We took the longer tour that included a tour guide and descriptions of the cathedral. Lots of stair climbing, but the descriptions and views of the stained glass windows are unforgettable. I highly recommend...More

A magnificent cathedral, the sixth-largest in the world. Repairs are still being carried out after the earthquake in 2011, but this in no way interfered with our enjoyment. We stayed for a Sunday service and the cathedral was almost full. The cathedral shop in the...More

The maintenance and repairs to the Washington National Cathedral have become so costly that the Cathedral is now rented out for functions to raise revenue. I don't know if there's a bad seat in the house, at least when the organ is being played. The pipes are at the front, but the horns are in the rear – and it's the most amazing organ I've ever heard in person. However, if... More
