I took my family to visit the Capitol on an early Saturday morning. We arrived early to get the tickets which are first come first served.

After a few months of waiting finally got approval for congressional tour....i was largely happy , except for the security and lack of parking.it's well maintained...lots of tax dollars wasted ;-). Do not plan on driving up there, take a uber or public transport.

The Capitol tour was very interesting. Definitely worth the hour it takes and afterwards walk directly over to The Library of Congress. Both buildings are beautiful and you learn a lot of history on Capitol tour.

How to summarize a visit to Capitol Hill. On this occasion we went on a tour of the Capitol, sat in on sessions in the House and the Senate, and visited the Library of Congress. We used pretty much a whole day to do this and left feeling we wanted more.Visiting the legislative chambers while in session was a first... More

My favorite day is Sundays for a walk and lunch. Walking the mall the white house and checking out the Trump Hotel. Bring your dog.

More symbolic than anything, can't get too close but represents so much of America's core - like most tourist activities, easy to get to, an easy walk from other points of interest.

We booked this tour prior to our visit to Washington. The building is more impressive in reality than it is in the movies. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided loads of detail about the history of both the American government and the history of the building. Great visit.

While you cant get close these days it is still worth a look as from here you can take great shots down the mall toward the monument and lincon memorial.

The first monument that we visited on our trip to DC. Was great to be there and see a place that have seen so many times on TV and film. Heaps of photos, the best from th Mall side as the sun goes down and it is lit up.
