The focal point of this neighborhood is the DUPONT CIRCLE where there is a small circular Park. Main avenues surrounding this Circle are Connecticut Avenue and Massachusetts Avenue. Located at this park is a Fountain with female statues around it. The fountain is not working during my visit. There were several homeless people occupying the benches of the park so I did not stay long. There are shops, restaurants, embassies, office buildings, hotels, private homes in this neighborhood. The Dupont Circle Metro Station is an excellent way to go and visit this neighborhood.

To be close to Dupont Circle was a first class choice. It was handy for everything although a few minutes from the tourist sites. It has plenty of restaurants and great metro connection.

This is a good jumping off point. I recommend having a game plan if coming here. It's not a sit and enjoy area, too many homeless people. But, it's a cool starting point for other adventures.

but the benches are tired, the pavement needs replacing/repair, and the whole circle is full of homeless people. We need to find better options for them, and some maintenance of the area will make it better for everyone
