I went because there was one piece that I saw a picture of that really intrigued me, but it wasn't there (it must've just been an exhibit). Personally I thought it was sort of boring, but I'm not an art guru. However, as you walk...More

Tis used to be one of my favorites until they closed and 'renovated' the stunning structure and gave it a horrible white wash. Original collections and backgrounds that were built for his Corcoran's collections have literally been painted over and it is a very sad...More

I may be a little biased since this was my first Smithsonian to visit, but I'm so glad it was my first. Such great artwork! This was such a great place to visit, and they also change one section to display artists work every so...More

This "small" museum with superb exhibits is across from the White house. While everyone else is packed into the other large Smithsonian museums on this hot summer day, there was a much smaller audience here. There are some fabulous stories behind much of the artwork;...More

The Renwick is a small, beautiful old building. The collection of American art and craft fascinates and inspires. The chandelier, the glass dress, the quilts, mugs, and much more are all hard to describe but so worth seeing!

This was such in interesting Gallery. It had artwork & crafts that were unusual but somewhat modern. The next room was more interesting than the last. We also listened to the audio/video that was provided which gave background and understanding to the pieces that you...More

Since revamping the museum a couple of years ago, the Renwick has been one of THE hottest museums in DC. It came from relative obscurity despite its location near the White House. The great thing is this museum always has great exhibits, an excellent gift...More

Part of the Smithsonian network so free admission, this gem is modest in size because of the building. You can see everything in less than two hours, though some exhibits invite a longer stay!

If you are in the area, I would recommend to stop by. It is a small gallery so only plan 30 minutes. It is all American artist featured.

No there are not wheelchairs available. There is an elevator. The only thing I have a hesitation about is the entrance. I would say to contact the museum for an accessible entrance.

I don't recall seeing any wheelchairs, although that doesn't mean they aren't available. I know there is a dedicated handicap entrance.
