Was surprised at the disappointment we felt- expectations were high for the Watergate! I imagine address of these few small things would make a great difference for better experience. I was informed over the phone that SpaFinder gift certificates were accepted, but this was contradicted when we arrived for our appointments. I never received my receipt via email as requested upon check-in. The steam room was non-functional. There was moderately loud chit chat behind the curtain heard from the relaxation area (I’m pretty sure this was staff as opposed to customers). Used cups and napkins were left on the relaxation room tables during the entirety of our visit (we arrived early with the intent of enjoying the relaxation amenities and so came and went from the lounge area). My treatment (a body wrap) and lunch at the hotel restaurant were wonderful! However, my friend left her massage greasy because the masseuse hadn’t adequately wiped off the oils- she showered on-site due to the discomfort. Emailed spa afterwards with these constructive criticisms but didn’t receive any reply.

Dear Cat, Warm greetings to you and your friend and thank you both for joining us. We loved everything about our spa experience! The spa is located in the Watergate hotel which is extremely beautiful. Make sure you get your ticket validated so you do not have to pay for valet parking. If you want a good time coupled with some bubbles, come here. I have been 5 different times.

Booked for a couple's massage 3 weeks in advance but received a call the day before(less than their own 24hr cancelation policy) that there was a mix up and they can only offer us seperate rooms. No other offers for another date(or price), nor an apology, were made for the inconvenience. I requested for a cancelation and they didn't seem too eager to keep us as a customer.

Dear JimmyJiganto, Greetings from all of us at Argentta. While we take pride in creating an environment perfect for couples to relax and recharge, we regret that circumstances prohibited us from using this space on the day of your massage. I am sorry to learn that your cancellation was not better resolved and should your time allow, I would love nothing more than to offer my personal apologies. As you will note below, I have provided my email address which I invite you to use in forwarding your own details and a convenient time for me to reach you. I thank you again for taking the time to share your comments and I look forward to speaking with you in the days ahead. Warm Regards, Brigitte Schmitt Spa Manager bschmitt@thewatergatehotel.com

I stopped by and bought a day pass (facilities, but no massage or other services). The person at reception was welcoming and pointed out right away that the pool was closed for routine maintenance. They did not inform me, but it turned out the steam room was closed too. I was a little disappointed, since I was excited to use the indoor saltwater pool, but I went in anyway to use the rest of the facilities. The locker room was well-appointed and had a Goldilocks feeling - not too spacious and not too cramped - with soothing ambient music to set the mood. The area around the pool includes a spacious and clean jacuzzi as well as a large coed sauna with premium Finlandia equipment (we have to trust the Finns for top-notch expertise when it comes to building a sauna!). The showers outside the sauna were a nice touch and in my case they provided a freezing cold break from sauna sessions. After a rejuvenating experience, the relaxation room provided a welcome respite, and it was stocked with teas and light snacks. All in all this was a 4-4.5 star experience. However, when finished, I left the locker room and proceeded to leave. The person at reception called my name and informed me that they were so sorry the pool was closed during my visit, and they returned my day pass, effectively giving me a visit free of charge! I had obviously used the facilities and enjoyed my time enough to stay a few hours - this extra customer service was completely unexpected! I was very pleased, and I will be returning again soon.
