I was there in January 2017, the first day the basin was flooded from heavy rains, the next day was 60 degrees and we could walk around the path. Someday I will make it here when the cherry blossom trees are in bloom.

most any season, it is fun to walk around the basin...when it is summer, it can be quite hot; the trees don't offer alot of shade...but you can feel the mist off of the water; you can duck into the Jefferson Memorial, etc...it is fun to do the paddle boats, too! Don't miss Cherry Blossom time! Even with the crowds... More

Though the trees were bare since I visited in winter, the Tidal Basin still made a great and scenic walk as I explored the monuments/memorials in the area. Started my trek around the basin at the MLK memorial and finished at the Jefferson Monument. Overall very enjoyable.

Very scenic especially during the Cherry Blossom Festival. A beautiful walk to the Jefferson Memorial.

The waterside walk is a great way to avoid the tourist crowds and a wonderful way to connect between the Jefferson, Roosevelt and MLK memorials.

This is a good place to go for a walk, where it is usually less crowded than on the mall. There are also good views from various points to some of the DC monuments and landmarks. Worth a stop if near the area here.

With an amazing weather, this is a great place to take a walk and check out the scenery almost any time of the year. In fact, if you are good with cold weather, it's definitely quite a view during snowing days.

We took a walk just after the cherry blossoms had finished, luckily there was still a pink tree or two but it was a beautiful walk. We stopped at all the memorials along the way and it must have taken us 3/4 hours... longer than expected but well worth it.

Seeing the Cherry Blossoms in the Tidal Basin is the best DC experience there is. April is the main tourist time in DC so you'll have to make reservations early and maybe not in DC proper and use the outskirts in MD and VA by using hotels close to Metro. Depending on the area you like, you can find great... More

I went here in the winter, so did not enjoy it as much as in nicer whether, however, having no crowds was very nice. Great view of the Washington Monument, and at night can also get the monument's reflection in the water.
