This is one of the more popular Smithsonian museums and with good reason. Giant preservations of animals, an area dedicated to marine life, butterflies, dinosaurs, and best of all the Hope Diamond and thousands of other gems all over the second floor. Worth a visit,...More

Overcrowded. Only a handful of lockers for hundreds of people. Full of the false theory of evolution that is stated as fact throughout the entire museum. Couldn't even see the exhibits due to the layout and crowds. The only part we found worth looking at...More

Great exhibits about our natural world. The evolution of man was very interesting as was the gem exhibit. We got to the see the Hope Diamond which was beautiful! I did think the dinosaur exhibit was a little small.

I only had the time to visit this museum, and it was worth it. Take your time and enjoy all of the information. The one thing I will say is that it is 100% evolution, 0% creatism.

I loved going to this museum. They had a preserved giant squid, which was amazing. I love the guides taking us around and telling us about the exhibits. I loved this museum.

Natural history is not my sort of thing but as I had never been here before I thought it ought to be done and as you would expect it is an excellent museum (as all the Smithsonian's are). There were lots of excited children having...More

Not sure how long you are in DC. But, State Plaza and Residence Inn seem both comfortable and in close proximity to all the historic sites in Washington DC. Hope you have a fun trip!

The museum opens at 10am. I have never lined up nor have I waited more than 1 min to enter. There is a security check and it goes quickly.
