All you creationists - do visit. Pack your good walking shoes and take your time marvelling at the natural wonders our world has to offer mankind. Although it was jarring to see the stuffed animals, its very educational especially for children. Bags are checked at...More

I love this museum, but boy was it crowded today! It lives you to the Smithsonian name = quality! Every exhibit is well done.

We where searching the national mall in search of Pokemon it was very warm outside and it was a huge relief to duck inside of the museum for a much needed break from the scorching sun. We had a blast inside we intended a short...More

Open to public for certain hours and free entry, it's no wonder that the Smithsonian is known for its collection as it sits within the National Mall area. You'd be surprised to see the entire animal kingdom (and probably even more unknown species being explained...More

A good place to take children. Most of the displays play right in with what they are learning in school and it certainly enhances there education.

Thoroughly enjoyed the museum. A little crowded, but that's to be expected this time of year. Had my 9 year old granddaughter with me. I would wait a few more years before bringing a child. Great that entry is free, but they get you in...More

There is something for everyone here! From dinosaurs to the Hope Diamond, early mankind to photos of nature. It might not be your first choice but be sure to go to the photo gallery. They are amazing!

I love this museum. They really go in depth with fossils and the evolutionary process. There is too much to see and read everything, but you can focus on whatever interests you. Eat before or after because the cafe is overcrowded and overpriced.

Visited here on a Monday afternoon. The place was packed and extremely crowded but was still able to see all the exhibits relatively comfortably. Upon entering the museum you must pass a security check point with walkthrough metal detector which is the norm for pretty...More

This was by far one of our favorite museums in DC. The kids loved it and it was one of our longer stays. Be sure to take your time and see it all.

There are no parking garages anywhere near the entire mall area. There is very limited free street parking on Madison Drive, which is one-way heading west. Start at 4th St. Get there very, very early. Also, Jefferson... More

The museum of natural history has everything-geology, the Hope diamond, Neanderthals, cave replicas, under the sea exhibits- there's just so much to explore. The hundreds of teenagers there seemed to love it.
